SOCIAL MEDIA

I love sappy year-end entries, so chances are, I've probably read yours hehe. I read them in full, wherever it's posted on social media. In fact, I have a lot of thoughts running around my head these past few days as we prepare for the coming new year. I can say that the weather helped too, since it's been raining for the whole week now. It's the kind of cold weather that makes you want to do nothing and just sleep all day. But then it's also the kind of weather that gives you ample time to think and reflect, and that's just the way I like it.

This was the year I started wearing earrings more often. I personally think earrings are the best kind of accessories to wear because they're often the first thing people see as compared to rings and bracelets. Necklaces, yes, but people will always look at your face.

I was delighted to know about a new online shop my colleague from work introduced to us, which is called Gilda's Story. Their craft is to preserve nature by making them into wearable accessories, such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and the like.

I definitely felt the medieval vibes in this place, and much to my surprise, quite a bit festive too as we passed by the shops.

Lunches At Parks

Wednesday, November 28, 2018

This is one of the places that would make your head turn once you see it from the corner of the street. More than a famous tourist attraction, I chose to see it as an architectural masterpiece, a place of prayer and worship, to be seen and enjoyed personally. At the end of the day, it depends on how you view it. If there's one thing this trip taught me, it's about learning how to appreciate architecture, to learn about the styles, who made it, and so on; the questions don't stop.

LONDON: Around the Westminster Abbey

My first castle! Probably because it's the most accessible, as it's located in central London. Be prepared for some knowledge nuggets.

Our time at Stonehenge was quite memorable because we visited on summer solstice day, the longest day of the year. I'd honestly call it a coincidence, because my sister wasn't thinking much about it while she planned our itinerary, but I say it's pretty cool that she decided to schedule it on June 21st.

I'm far from done with my London posts, and there's still plenty of places we went to around England that I'm yet to share about; I hope you guys aren't getting tired of it.. though I must admit that I'm having fun! And I'll write about it as much as I can, to my heart's content.

Mundane's not at all bad, unless it gets too repetitive.

By the time we got to Kensington Palace, it was already closed for the day. We still enjoyed the garden and park, nonetheless.

Hello to the Queen Victoria statue! Happy to have snapped this photo on a not so cloudy day.

LONDON: A Late Afternoon In Kensington Palace

We walked here on a Sunday. I suddenly thought: wow, how fitting that I've written this entry on a Sunday too. I'm just going to say it outright that this is a post filled with colorful eye-candy houses, but I'm going to try not to bore you all!

We went to Greenwich, London on a sunny day and stood on the historic Prime Meridian line ♡♡

Without a doubt, one of my favorite things about London (or probably in England) would be the free museums. There's no excuse for you not to learn something new everyday, or with each visit.

LONDON: Natural History Museum, A Cathedral To Nature

The V&A is known to be the leading museum of art and design. This place was named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert back in 1852, and they saw this as an effort to promote and educate everyone, regardless of race or class, about art and design through the museum collections. One can find artifacts here across all continents, from both the ancient times until the present day.

It's not Saturday today, but I just wanted to share and recount how last Saturday went. This day was supposedly a thrifting date only, but my colleague and I decided to squeeze in some time to eat first, and we decided that it was going to be at the Salcedo Saturday Market, since it was a Saturday.

I've always been fascinated by plants, mainly because we have a garden beside my house. It's where my dad grows a variety of vegetables, such as okra, malunggay, sweet potato, and more.  I'm no botanist or plant expert, but I really did enjoy seeing so many different kinds when I visited Kew's greenhouses. It made me appreciate their great design and purpose.

It's already August! We're well into the middle of the second quarter of the year. This is a much overdue update on the planner. Here is four months' worth of highlights.

MUJI 2018 PLANNER: April - July

It's definitely a good idea to visit gardens during the summer because this is the time when you can appreciate the many flowers that are in full bloom.

Saw some of the iconic places in London, namely Big Ben and London Eye (from a distance). We came at the time when the Elizabeth Tower, which houses the clock tower, and parts of the Houses of Parliament were under conservation works.

I honestly liked a lot of paintings here in the gallery. I like to think that seeing all these paintings is like peering in to the hearts and minds of these painters, too.

What with all the podcasts I listen to every time I commute to and fro work, I figured it would be nice to write down my thoughts about them. Post number 1 would be here.

The National Gallery, London is located in Trafalgar Square and was founded back in 1824. This gallery houses over 2000+ paintings within the time range of the mid-13th to 19th century. On this day, there was a concert of sorts going on at the Trafalgar Square itself, so there were lots of people (I didn't get to take a photo!! but it's okay because there was just simply lots of people).

On Lovely Postcard-sized Abstract Paintings of the Ocean

I've just come back from my 2 week vacation in England with family. I say England, because we didn't go to Ireland or Scotland or any other places in the United Kingdom, just really within England. I've cheated with my past two entries, wherein I wrote them in advance and scheduled them for posting.. and I confess that I've only learned about the scheduling function a month ago (I really need to be more inquisitive and explore more.). But for now, I guess I want to mention my June highlight, which was this family trip!

Hey, June.

Sunday, July 8, 2018

*I wrote this on Saturday, June 9. I remember mentioning in my previous blog entries on how I just couldn't wait for summer to be over because of the heat. But then just last week, we were greeted by the onset of the rainy season. Weather forecasters have officially announced that summer is over.

Most Mondays I'm feeling motivated and excited to start the week, but there also comes some Mondays when I don't feel like getting out of bed at all. I entitled this post originally as "Monday Blues" but thought about it again. So I decided to go with "Making Mondays Great" because no one else can do this for you; only you can make the conscious effort and choice to make it great!

Making Mondays Great

The first quarter of the year is done. Time flies!

Much of the first quarter for me has been spent on figuring out my goals, setting my priorities, trying out new things, and simply trying to be consistent with all these.

MY MUJI PLANNER: February - March

If I described Puraran Beach to be a very rough beach, Sakahon would be its total opposite.

CATANDUANES ISLAND: Sakahon Beach

Saturday, March 31, 2018

It's the Holy Week! While everyone's at the beach or on the road, I'm here at home catching up on sleep, my shows, and my hobbies. I wouldn't have it any other way to be honest; I'm just glad I have a couple of days to myself. My family and I aren't the type to go with the crowd during holidays, so I'll just be here reminiscing about my days in Catanduanes!

Binurong Point is definitely my favorite scenic spot here in Catanduanes. I personally think that everyone who gets a chance to go to this island should go see this place.

I don't think I wrote proper entries about my travels to Catanduanes. However I did explain it in my most recent one, Island Weekend, on why I often visit this place. I figured that I should sit down and internalize what this place really means to me, rather than talking about it non-specifically like what I did previously.

Bougainvilleas

This is how I know it's almost summer; it's when the Bougainvilleas start to bloom. Took a walk last weekend around my village and couldn't help but take photos of all the beautiful blooms around. There's no official announcement that it's summer time yet, but I do know it's coming soon.

PHOTO DIARY: Almost Summer Time

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

I've just recently finished A Love So Beautiful! I don't normally do detailed posts like these for a drama, but I really liked this one, and I stayed up until 11PM this week (despite having work the next day) to finish it, so it's worth sharing about on here. I won't deny it, but it has a cliche story line. You've probably encountered the same scenes in previous dramas you've watched. I also have to admit that I'm not really into high school plots, most especially if I know the actor/actress portraying the role is already in their mid-twenties in real life (although the characters here are still in their early twenties, so I reconsidered haha!). But then the show offers a light and fresh perspective around the daily things they encounter in life, allowing us to breeze through it together with them in the most enjoyable manner.

I want to share with you all my thoughts on this gem of a Chinese drama and why I like it so much.

I'VE WATCHED: A Love So Beautiful (2017)

Saturday, March 10, 2018

The sun finally decided to shine on our third day. We decided that it was going to be the day wherein we'd get to wind down and simply walk around, see what else could be around the area. We chanced upon the Taipei Botanical Garden, a quiet and green space in the middle of the bustle of the city.

TAIWAN IN FEBRUARY: Day Three

Saturday, February 24, 2018

It was during our second day that my sister booked a tour van via Klook. Basically, the driver would take us to places and give us a time frame for each place, in which we had to make sure that we would be back at the specified time.

I went to Taipei, Taiwan with my family. My sister came back for a visit, so we figured a family trip was much needed.

TAIWAN IN FEBRUARY: Day One

Friday, February 16, 2018

January went by so slow for me, to be honest. I'd also see tweets on my timeline on how it felt like a year already for others! It's funny, yet this is also a great reminder to take things slowly. During the start of this year, I committed to writing more and to actually use my planner. Last year, I attempted to do bullet journaling, however I wasn't consistent with it and had to drop it entirely, as much as it pains me to be honest about it. It's always a constant battle for me when it comes to making time for things that I really enjoy doing, but one thing for sure is that I won't give up in trying.
