CATANDUANES ISLAND: Binurong Point

Thursday, March 29, 2018

It's the Holy Week! While everyone's at the beach or on the road, I'm here at home catching up on sleep, my shows, and my hobbies. I wouldn't have it any other way to be honest; I'm just glad I have a couple of days to myself. My family and I aren't the type to go with the crowd during holidays, so I'll just be here reminiscing about my days in Catanduanes!

Binurong Point is definitely my favorite scenic spot here in Catanduanes. I personally think that everyone who gets a chance to go to this island should go see this place.

It takes only 20 minutes to get here from Puraran Beach via Tricycle. I woke up at 4AM because I wanted to make sure that I would be able to witness the sun rise. The hike going up wasn't challenging at all and it took about 30 minutes. It wasn't as steep as I expected it to be, and I think both the young and old can hike here! When I finally reached the clearing, I was greeted by tall weeds and vast grasslands.

It's a cliff on either sides. This one is on my left side,

and this one is on my right side.

The sun rose and it was absolutely majestic. I can replay it in my head over and over and not get tired of it. I like watching the sunrise more than watching sunsets.

I always wonder how nature does it with the grass. Some say it's the winds that help maintain this level of growth.

I can say that this place resembles Batanes in a way, although I have yet to go there. I think it may be because of the similar landscape, and with how it's a cliff as well.

Another added bonus to this would be that our guide actually took us to the lower level of this place, in which I got to really witness and hear the sound of the waves myself. The trekking here got a bit trickier, because I had to figure out where I would place my foot next or else I would topple over or something haha!

The sun was already high up at this time. It was very windy, too.

I'm quite fond of seeing sea foam.

This place is definitely worth seeing. The best time to go here is in the early morning so you could witness the sun rise. It can get quite hot considering that these are purely grasslands and there are no trees in sight.

Thanks for reading, dear reader!
