Do you have personal birthday traditions you follow when celebrating your birthday every year? I took a look back at the previous decade and saw patterns of how I usually celebrate my birthday. Here's some of mine :-)
Posting on Facebook
On my birthday, I usually post a photo of myself on my wall. It could be from the restaurant or whatever it is I did or wherever I was on the same date. I rarely post on Facebook nowadays since my social media habits have changed over the years; it has somewhat lost priority in my everyday. This is my simple way of sharing signs of life, that I'm still alive and well.
People on Facebook have been around in different phases of my life and I'm eternally grateful for every moment shared, but as we grow older we can't always expect to have the same level of closeness because... that's simply how life is. We all have our different paths but of course I always welcome the chances of paths crossing again. Greetings are always lovely and a chance to be grateful that someone has thought of you and took a second to reach out.
Cake!
I must always have cake. I don't think there was ever a birthday wherein I did not have a cake. It goes all the way back from childhood, because my parents always made sure to buy me one even if we were just staying home or we were out and about to celebrate, there was always cake. I carry this with me into adulthood because blowing out candles, slicing the cake, and eating it after a full meal truly warms my heart. Eating the leftovers for days is also one of my favorite things!
This year, my cake was Black Forest from Red Ribbon. It's SO GOOD. :"(
Spending time with my parents
Being with the two most wonderful people who have brought me to life and raised me is the absolute gift of all. I am forever grateful for both my parents and every single birthday I get to spend with them.

These are the 3 main traditions I keep every year. In the end, all that matters is that it is personally meaningful and memorable for ourselves. Something different I did this year is that I have a list of 30 things I'd like to gift myself since I turned 30. These could range from new experiences, new clothes... everything new as I welcome a new decade. :")
Hope you have a lovely Sunday, dear reader.
