Cafes in Hoi An and Da Nang, Vietnam

Sunday, December 1, 2024

Hellooooo~! How have you been? My friends and I went back to Vietnam this year, but this time we explored the central area which was mainly: Hoi An - Hue - Da Nang. I have been asked on Instagram regarding recommended cafes to go to, so I'd like to share more in long form style through my blog, which I very much miss writing in!! It is also my attempt to memory keeping, in a form of a travel log.

Most of these cafes are found in Hoi an and Da Nang since we spent most of our time in these two areas. We learned about these cafes mainly through Google Maps and Tiktok and I'm happy to share that we've had a pleasant experience in most of them. Kudos to my friend N, because she was mainly the one who searched for places to go for this trip!

It's always a good idea to explore cafes when in Vietnam. During our visit, it was extremely humid, so the drinks consumed and time spent inside the coffee shops really refreshed our bodies and souls.

Hoi An Cafes

📌Fefe Cafe

Hoi An, Vietnam

This cafe is hard to miss, as it is in front of the iconic Ba Mu Temple. It's a lovely coffee shop and they hold classes for learning more about coffee! They sell drip coffee in packs which makes it a lovely gift to bring back home. My friends and I sat at the balcony which allowed us to have a view of the walking street below. We spent time just chatting and observing passersby; there were rain showers as well which was a good excuse for us to stay a bit longer and just enjoy the cool breeze.. without getting wet of course. There are air conditioned and al fresco areas for everyone to enjoy.

📌Marou

Hoi An, Vietnam

Originally from Saigon, we were happy to have stumbled upon one of the Marou branches in Hoi An. As a huge dark chocolate fan, I was delighted to see all the different kinds of dark chocolate flavors they had with different percentages and a variety of nuts mixed into them. Their drinks are also refreshing. I recommend getting marshmallows as your topping on your drink. You can also try out the chocolate pearls..! Really yummy.

📌The Inner Hoi An

Hoi An, Vietnam

When in Vietnam, I always trust that the narrow alleyways would lead me to an interesting and memorable experience. The Inner Hoi An is one of them, and you'll have to pass through a long one to get to the cafe. Once you reach the end, you'll be greeted by all sorts of greenery. There is an al fresco area which is pretty much like a garden. They have aircon too, which is the area where the cashier is located. We chose sit by the bar wherein we got to watch our drinks being made. We loved what we ordered and had time to look around their little shop. They also sell individual drip coffee bags for an affordable price (much more affordable than at Fefe).

📌Namto House Coffee

Hoi An, Vietnam

If you'd like to spend time observing a busy street filled with people walking and motorbikes buzzing, then Namto offers that kind of scenery in their relaxed space. They have chairs faced towards the street for a good view. Their drinks are good, I recommend trying out their fruit juices! The interior is quite charming with antique elements.

📌Moments Cafe

47 Lê Lợi, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam 51000, Vietnam

Hoi An, Vietnam

This cafe has the From Hoi An, with Love! signage at the front and Meet Me in Hoi An inside the bar area. ^_^ It was crowded when we came in, but luckily they had more seating upstairs. The view upstairs at the roof deck covers the street below and you'll also find the scenery of yellow buildings with the its classic Indochine architectural style.

📌Ren Rua

Hoi An, Vietnam

Being here felt like being in someone's home; very cozy and warm. They have good egg coffee and I was able to dip my croissant into it : - ) I also loved how they had these icebreaker cards and games which can be borrowed while spending time in the cafe. There's no aircon however the place itself is just open which allows one to see the plants in the garden.

📌Mot Cafe

150 Trần Phú, Cẩm Châu, Hội An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam

Hoi An, Vietnam

A must try herbal drink can be found here at Mot Cafe. There's usually a long line for their Mot Drink Hoi An, which I think lives up to its hype. It's definitely sweet and refreshing, and it's adorned with a lotus petal on top. We got it for to-go, since we wanted to walk around more and also because the cafe inside was full!

Da Nang Cafes

📌Tyfa Cafe

314 Đ. Nguyễn Văn Linh, Thạc Gián, Thanh Khê, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Hoi An, Vietnam

Simply put, it's a Studio Ghibli themed cafe. It's definitely quirky in every corner, and you'll be able to spot the different Ghibli characters painted across the walls! The drinks though are so-so; you'll be paying mostly for the design and experience.

📌Mo Coffee

256 Đ. Nguyễn Văn Linh, Thạc Gián, Thanh Khê, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Hoi An, Vietnam

This nice modern cafe was a few blocks away from our airbnb, and it has good aircon and wifi. I tried their Salt Coffee and it was such an experience..! I really liked it despite my initial thinking that I might not. I encourage you to try their different coffee flavors!

📌E'weik Cafe

929 Nguyễn Tất Thành, Xuân Hà, Thanh Khê, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Hoi An, Vietnam

This cafe is near the seaside. We had a view of it too, and it was nice seeing people exercising and just staying by the beach. I got their almond coffee which was really yummy and kept me up for a long while until we've had to board the plane going back home to Maniluh :-)
