It's the last day of 2017, it's lunch time, and I only got to sit down and write right now. I've been meaning to write down my thoughts lately even though my time has been consumed with meeting dear people and doing my chores, but I'm glad I have time now!

It's very cliche to say that the year has had its ups and downs, but no words could be truer than that. I think there are many things, or at least something that we should learn from each year that comes to pass.

I went to Catanduanes island over the weekend. My grandparents were born and raised on this island which is why my parents and I get to visit occasionally. Back when I was still small though, we would visit almost every summer. I guess this is why I have become fond of going here even if I'm already in my early adult years.

I believe I've made a few posts on why I love Catanduanes a few years back here on this blog, but I never really did write a full blown post about my trip. My previous trips were longer though, spanning from four days to a week, but since I started working, I could only afford to visit over the weekend, which consisted of Friday - Sunday.

In August alone we had the chance to experience two holidays, and another on the first of September. For me, holidays are truly something to look forward to, whether it may be spent just resting at home or meeting with friends.

The concept of slowness is often frowned upon. But I'd like to take a stand to say that this is exactly what we are all missing.

Slowing Down

I chose this photo because it reminds me of that one week I spent in Catanduanes wherein I consistently woke up at 5AM without much struggles, and I got to watch the sun rise everyday.

Whenever I hear the word "morning", I would often associate it with "early". Waking up early has always been a struggle for me especially because I am fond of staying up late. It's not that I have anything better to do at night, but even before when I was younger, there was that thrill of staying up late and sleeping whenever I want to. It's only now that I am learning to love mornings and having an early start.

Also known as: How To Survive Traffic. It's inevitable; commuting is a part of one's everyday life when they enter the workforce. Unless you drive. But then I find that commuting can save more money and can be less stressful since there's a driver and all you have to do is sit there. I have to admit though, just sitting there consumes a lot of time. Here are some things I do to make sure I don't get bored while commuting.

Things to do During the Commute

I had to wait for the end of the month before I could post this. I wanted to try it out for a whole month so that I could present it all in one entry. I'm thinking I'll be doing this every month end, so that I could share my experiences, and insights as I go through my bullet journaling journey.

First Month of Bullet Journaling

I came back from a whole week up in the City of Pines, known as Baguio City. But then more than being the summer capital, more than it being known as the home for Pine trees here in the Philippines, there will always be one special place in Baguio that would strike a cord in my heart, and that would be in the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary (PBTS).

I personally like the minimalist style, as it looks clean and simple, which is why I took an interest in learning more about minimalism. I recently got to watch the documentary on Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things by The Minimalists. It contains many different interviews showcasing their perspectives in why they chose to pursue the minimalist lifestyle.

I'd like to share my thoughts and some takeaways I got from watching this documentary. I personally think that a documentary is successful and meaningful if it provokes thought and makes you ask yourself the right questions.
