Tell Them

Something that I get a lot from people would be that they say I'm too expressive.

I can't tell exactly if this is a good thing or a bad thing. In a way it could be bad because my understanding of being expressive is that I'm opening up myself too much, which could lead to disappointment or with people getting the wrong idea. When I say disappointment, I mean that people may not reciprocate that same appreciation that I give. People would tease me a bit, say I'm a bit too cheesy, or simply just brush it off. When I say that people may get the wrong idea, it could mean differently for them, that I have feelings beyond what is appropriate for friendship. But then really, that is not the case.

It was through the year-end sermon yesterday that it somehow made sense to me, that it's not at all bad. Our pastor reminded us that all relationships we have here on earth are temporary. May it be with our families, with our significant other, or with our friends, there is an appointed time for each and every person we get to spend moments with. That's when I understood.

It's sad, but then at the same time, it is all the more important to love fearlessly and to be kind. To tell someone that they did a good job, to thank someone, to tell them how much you appreciate them, it means a whole lot.

So this time around, don't hold back. Aim to see the beauty in others and bring it out from them by letting them know.

  2. I think I have the same ~problem~ but in my case, I'm also too expressive of my opinions that there are times when I feel like when I tell them, they get offended because most of the time, I speak my mind or I speak of what I think is right. lol. As long as I'm telling the truth, I feel like it's fine, especially when they need to hear the truth.

    1. Hey there Bee! Most of the time people only want to hear what they like to hear, so I think it's definitely okay to speak up for what's right even if it could get uncomfortable for them :) they'll understand where you're coming from at some point in time.
